Dr. Robert H. Creech, MD, FACE
Dr. Robert Creech, MD

Dr. Creech developed diabetes when he was just 10 years old. He decided at an early age that his goal in life would be to become an endocrinologist so that he could help other suffering from the same or similar conditions.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and is a former professor at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He completed a fellowship at the Joslin Clinic at Harvard University Medical Center, Boston, MA.

Dr. Creech was the principal investigator for the implantable insulin pump. In addition, he developed and organized camps for children with diabetes.

He developed the prototype program that became Diabetes Treatment Center of America. This program was provided under contract to other hospitals around the nation. He has formerly practiced in Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Nelian Creech, RN, CDE

Nelian Creech is a Registered Nurse, Certified Diabetes Educator, and Certified Fitness Trainer. She has been active in nursing for over 20 years, including raising a child with diabetes.

Nelian believes that a well informed, proactive patient can vastly improve their quality of life by making consistent commitments to the appropriate monitoring, treatment, and exercise programs.

She has traveled throughout North Alabama teaching Diabetes Education classes, and has had the opportunity to train many of the area's nurses in the proper care of diabetes patients.

Claudia Follette, Registered Dietitian

Claudia Follette provides nutrition education for our diabetes education classes, and one-on-one nutrition counseling for our patients in general. She has a passion for health and wellness and makes a point of keeping up with all the latest nutritional discoveries and studies.

Minnie Newman, Registered Pharmacist

Minnie Newman teaches the Pharmacology portion of our Diabetes Education courses. Discussing the education program, she stated:

The diabetes class slows things down and focuses on the gaps in the patient's knowledge. It empowers the patient to take control of their own health and wellness.

With the constantly evolving field, and new medicines and devices becoming available on a regular basis, her expertise is an indispensable part of the overall education training.

Kim Phillips

Kim Phillips has been employed by Dr. Creech for the past 13 years, performing many different duties. She received her certificate in practice management in 2001.

David Ranson, Phlebotomist

David Ranson has worked with Dr. Creech for over 10 years as a Phlebotomist.
